🎶 So this is Christmas… 🎵

That familiar lyric echoed in my heart throughout these past weeks…and honestly, what a Christmas it was.

This season, we had the joy of handing out over 2,000 toys, and with each one came lots of smiles. Being part of the Christmas teams of Fundación Misión Misericordia and Misiones Menonitas de Puerto Rico has been a privilege I don’t take lightly. Even more meaningful was working side by side with volunteers who chose to spend part of their festive season serving in Haiti, far from comfort, family gatherings, and tradition — but close to purpose.

Before arriving in Haiti, we started in Padre Las Casas, Dominican Republic, arriving fully in celebration mode. Many of our trips are focused on social impact; hygiene workshops, medical outreaches, and the distribution of essential supplies. The Christmas trip in this part of the year is different. This one is about celebrating and enjoying the season together.

And we truly did.

There was joy everywhere! in the music, in the games, in the shared meals, in the spontaneous moments that no camera can fully capture. Joy that reminded me why I love this work so much.

I’m grateful for every volunteer, every laugh, every long day that ended with tired feet and full hearts. This season was a gift. This Blog inspired the following t-shirt design
